The UCLan Students Union “Love Hate Rate It” awards was back for another year on Wednesday 18th April. Held once again in The Scholars Restaurant, student accommodation providers from all across the city were in attendance to see who would be crowned winners for various housing awards.
The awards encouraged students of UCLan to nominate their accommodation providers in several categories – including “Landlord of the Year”, “Wellbeing in Student Accommodation Award” and “Contribution to the Student Experience Award”. Nominations could be made by completing a simple online form and allowed tenants not only to nominate their Landlords, but to provide feedback as why they thought they were deserving of that award.
Out of 125 total nominations collected by the SU, 53 of the votes received were for Kexgill. A staggeringly high percentage given the amount of accommodation providers in the city. In total Kexgill came away with 3 wins and 1 runner’s up award. The day’s biggest prize – Landlord of the Year 2018 – was successfully won by the delighted Preston team. In total they came away with;
- Landlord of the Year 2018 (Winner)
- Wellbeing in Student Accommodation Award 2018 (Winner)
- Contribution to the Student Experience Award 2018 (Winner)
- Halls of Residence of the Year 2018 – Ladywell Halls (Finalist)
Kexgill Preston would like to thank the UCLan Students’ Union for all their effort in making the ceremony a success.
